General information

Design

The lithe, athletic proportions, the dynamic surfaces and forms: from every angle, the new S 500 AMG Line Coupé looks agile and assured, a vehicle completely at one with the road.

Design highlights include AMG bodystyling and the extravagant diamond radiator grille with chrome-coloured pins: this is one coupé that’s not shy of a little attention. 19” AMG alloy wheels are also standard, while options include the LED Intelligent Light System with Swarovski crystals.

There are practical touches too, such as Magic Vision Control. With this adaptive windscreen wiper system, the wiper blades have integrated nozzles that spray washer fluid directly into their path, enabling faster, more efficient cleaning. The system is also heated to prevent icing-up.

Performance

Capable of 0 to 62 mph in just 4.6 seconds, the S 500 AMG Line is astonishingly sharp and dynamic when you want it to be. But it’s an accomplished luxury cruiser too, able to clock up mile after effortless mile with consummate ease.

Powerful and athletic, it’s equipped with a muscular 4.7 litre bi-turbo V8 engine producing 455 hp and 700 Nm of torque. This is paired with the latest 9G-TRONIC 9-speed automatic transmission, which delivers short shift and response times for exceptional driving agility.

It also boasts a wide gear ratio spread that helps reduce engine speeds and increase efficiency. As a result, the S 500 AMG Line can achieve up to 33.2 mpg combined and emits as little as 197 g/km of CO2.

Luxury

It’s not just the sumptuous materials and finishes in the cabin that give the S 500 AMG Line Coupé such a strong sense of luxury and refinement. There are also touches of pure indulgence, such as ambient lighting, which lets you customise the cabin lighting with a range of colours and dim levels to create a restful travel environment. Or automatic servo motors within the doors, which ensure completely smooth and virtually silent closing.

Other systems are designed simply to make every journey as effortless and carefree as possible. For example, Active Parking Assist not only identifies suitable parking spaces but actually guides the Coupé into them. And the system’s reversing camera - discreetly housed within the Mercedes star at the rear - gives you extra visibility where you need it most.
